Incredible afternoon encounter with Resident Orcas! Sept 17, 2012

Here are just a few images from our incredible afternoon encounter with Resident Orcas!

By the time headed out this afternoon the Resident Orcas had moved North West from Whidbey Island where we had left them in the morning and were now on the west side of San Juan Island. We encountered the Resident Orcas near False Bay and had a wonderful encounter with several members of Lpod in particular. The Lpod members included L54 "Ino", L84 "Nyssa", L100 "Indigo" and L108 "Coho". As we watched the Resident Orcas we observed a lot of foraging as they hunted Salmon. Suddenly we witnessed L54, L100 & L108 work together to catch a Salmon and even saw L108 with a piece of Salmon in his mouth:)

It was an incredible day on the water with the Resident Orcas!
