We had a wonderful evening encounter with Transient Orcas off Victoria waterfront this evening! The whales were so close to Victoria that we were on scene with them less than 15 minutes after leaving the Harbour:)
These Transients were the T30 pod and include a new born calf. They traveled swiftly across Victoria waterfront whilst we followed at a respectful distance. The Orcas did make at least two kills whilst we were watching them, and we saw large slicks on the top of the water.
Apart from the Orcas we also saw Seals & Sealions at Race Rocks MPA. On our way home we witnessed a stunning west coast sunset, a fitting finale to a perfect trip!
