This afternoon J-pod had already entered Active Pass but thankfully the Transient Orcas had moved towards Victoria! We caught up with the Orcas a little to the south east of Trial Island and watched as they surfed through 2-3' waves.
The Orcas were the ones identified earlier as T20 a Male born in 1963, ,T21 a female born in 1965 plus T124 a female born in 1967 and T124C a male born in 1992. All four Orcas were swimming close together and heading in a westerly direction towards Race Rocks.
We witnessed one kill whilst we followed the Orcas, something that is always a thrill to observe.
Apart from the Orcas we also showed our passengers a large number of Harbor Seals, a main prey animal of the Transient Orcas, plus a number of varieties of Marine Birds including Bald Eagles.
