L-pod all day! August 11th, 2009.

Here are pictures from today's tours with L-pod by Ron Bates, MMRG.

Today we spent time with L-pod during our morning and afternoon tours. L-pod was in mostly foraging mode (hunting for food) as well as some resting. We had a particularly nice encounter with L41 "Mega" and his sisters L77 "Matia"... and L94 "Calypso".

L41 "Mega" is one of the largest males in the Southern Resident Orca population and was born in 1977.

It was another lovely day on the Salish Sea.
