THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2009 J's & K's in the Morning, L's in the Afternoon!!! AND A HUGE ELEPHANT SEAL!!

Passengers on Five Star Whale Watching's cruises today enjoy a virtual pot pourri of whales.

In the Morning we headed East to the San Juan Islands to see J & K pods of Resident (Fish-Eating) Killer Whales. Just about perfect sea conditions greeted us.

In the Afternoon we ventured West out past Race Rocks and met L-pod of Resident (Fish-Eating) Killer Whales as they can in from a short trip to the mouth of the Pacific Ocean.

On our way back to Victoria we stopped at Race Rocks and were lucky to see California Sea Lions as well as several Elephant Seals, with the largest approaching 4,000lbs (1,800kgs) and 5m (15 feet) long.
