WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2009, Morning Trip, TRANSIENT KILLER WHALES & SEA LIONS!!!
On Five Star Whale Watching's "Fast Cat" we thought as we left Victoria Harbour that we would be headed East to San Juan Island to see J-pod of Resident (Fish-Eating) Killer Whales, but an unexpected surprise awaited us in the form of over 12 Transient (Marine-Mammal-Eating) Killer Whales.
After seeing these creatures in their full glory, we headed to Race Rocks Marine Protected Area (see www.racerocks.com ) to see Steller Sea Lions.
