Aug 20th AM – Morning with Transient Orcas & Humpbacks out west!
This morning we had a gorgeous encounter with Transient Orcas & Humpbacks out west! We encountered the TO18’s/TO19’s a little south of Sooke heading west. The Orcas were spread out about 2-3 miles but heading out west at the slow pace. Although we did not get to see a kill, which most of our passengers were happy about, we did see signs that the Orcas were actively hunting as they headed west.
We encountered the two Humpbacks east of Race Rocks and we got to see their tails flukes numerous times as they went on their deep dives
We also got time to hang out at Race Rocks to see all the Seals & Sea Lions there! Race Rocks at this time of the year is an incredible experience and we are always happy when our tours have the opportunity to stop by this Ecological Reserve.
