July 30th PM – Orcas off San Juan plus a Humpback!
Orcas off San Juan
This afternoon we had a magnificent encounter with Resident Orcas & a Humpback! We encountered the Orcas off the west side of San Juan Island spread between Eagle Point and Hanna Heights. We got to witness Spyhops, Porpoising and tail slaps as the Orcas foraged for Salmon.
The Humpback Whale was encountered a little to the west of Beaumont Shoals feeding in a tide line. We got to see some tail fluking as the Humpback went on a deep dive.
Apart from the whales we also saw a number of Porpoise near Beaumont Shoals and Harbor Seals & Pups, so cute
