Aug 2nd - Evening Superpod!

August 2nd – Evening Superpod!

Superpod
This evening we had one of the most stupendous evening trips of the season with a Superpod in Haro Strait!!! It was a gorgeous evening with amazing colours in the sky and very active Orcas spread right across Haro Strait :) We encountered the Orcas just south of Battleship and followed them as they traveled towards Turn Point. As we observed the Orcas we witnessed several breaches, spy-hops , Porpoising (high speed swimming), and tail slaps. We spent a nice time with the J16’s that include two of the new J-pod babies, J50 & J52 and J50 was being her usual spunky self:)  We left the Orcas as they passed by Turn Point.
On our way home we stopped off at the Chain Islets to show our guests the bounty of Marine Life that included Harbor Seals & their Pups, Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemots, Harlequin Ducks, Black Oyster Catchers and Sea Gulls!
A stunning sunset  on our way home was a fitting finale to an unforgettable evening:)
